Viren shrugged as he was clearly not wanted in the process of 'cleaning' the girl up. 'phft, whatevz' he thought, not like he wanted to help out anyway. They were probably just going to change her cloths and dry her hair, and whatever else it was that girls did together. He shivered at the thought of them going to do each others makeup, as unlikely as that was. Yeah, he so didn't want to be apart of them. Still, Viren watched them go from the ground until they were out of sight then climbed up the tree the old fashion way.
It was just as quiet, just as peaceful, and just as relaxing as the last time he came up just little while ago. There were minor changes, of course, the sun wasn't hanging around any more for one, the twilight having faded to darkness is a matter of minutes, and the wind didn't seem to feel the need to blow without the rays, and Viren? Well, he sort of felt a little stupid for not asking the girl her name so he'd be able to find her later to return the book. Ah well, just another thing he'd have to do the old fashion way.
Reaching the top branch Viren pulled himself up and looked around. "Ah, there you are." The violin was exactly where he'd left it, he reached over and grabbed the handle, then took down the book from the branch above, couldn't forget that thing. With practiced ease he unfurled his black wings and hopped off the branch. He loved to free-fall, feeling things rush by quickly and suddenly, it was exhilarating, there was no way he was about to just let himself go splat though, so he snapped open his wings at the very last moment, coming so close he could practically touch the ground. God he loved being able to fly.
It only took a few minutes for Viren to reach his dorm, despite him trying to take as long as possible. Sooner than he wished he was ducking into his window and into the room. It was dark out now, but he flipped on the light and rummaged through the closet till he found his plain black nightshirt with slits cut into the back so he could sleep with wings unfurled. It wasn't just because it was more comfortable to sleep with his wings out, they were also pretty darn soft and warm too, like an extra blanket, very convenient. Leaving the light on, he settled down for the night with the book, determined to read it to the very end in one sitting. Absently he wondered what that girl and the headmaster were up to, but the thought quickly passed, not like they wondered where he was right?
