Silent as a shadow Viren crept carefully behind Sierra. Her hostile attitude toward him almost made him just give up and go back to the roof twice, but each time he just couldn't bring himself to leave her completely alone. Though he had experience in sneaking around from his little pranks and raids over the years, the fact that she never turned around made his job as secret ninja protector guy a whole lot easier.
Well, that is until they went past his room. He noticed her glance and wondered if her thoughts went something like 'What an insensitive jerk.' It felt like a big lead ball was sitting right on top of his chest, but that quickly turned into a fireball when he saw some guy grab Sierra around the waist then brush a few stray strands from her face, she didn't look to be appreciating the gesture very much.
The way his hands went from claws then eventually back to fingers made Viren think he was some kind of werewolf, which wasn't too good. Those things were tough and this guy looked allot bigger than any normal wolf.
Quietly Viren snuck up behind the punk while his attention was on the task of apparently seducing Sierra. Least to say that only seemed to fuel his flare of rage. Reaching the guy he activated Strength then grabbed the collar of the boy's shirt to fling him up and over his shoulder onto the ground flat. Even if it were only a split second activation then deactivation, Viren was already exhausted, he felt the draining effect of his already used up energy and collapsed onto one knee.
"Hey, princess, sorry for being so dense before but it'd probably be a good idea if you got out of here." Apologies were not something that Viren gave out on a daily basis. In fact, that was probably the first apology he'd ever really meant. He had said sorry to the Astrid girl for stealing Sierra, but he didn't mean it, in about ten long years, that was probably the first apology he'd ever truly meant. To tell the truth he actually wanted to yell at the girl to scram and fast, but simply didn't have the energy for it. He did want her out of there fast though, Viren had no idea how long he'd be able to stall the wolf kid.

As soon as the boys grip on her lessened Sierra pulled herself away. She felt relieved when she saw Viren fling him away, but bit her lip nervously when he knelt on the ground."I can't leave you here." Sierra stepped forward, about to place a hand on his shoulder, when she glanced up at the Fenris. It was transforming now, and very fast. Greasy fur soon surfaced his skin and covered his boy, nose elongating into a snout. It snarled with hundreds of teeth. Teeth stained with the blood of innocent, devoured girls. Sierra felt her stomach twist in fear, for if he got to her he would tears her apart like now tomorrow.
The Fenris lunged, first at Viren in order to rid him of the pest. Sierra stepped in front of him, and held her hands forwards. Gravity was soon against the Fenris, and it flew back. Sierra then bent over, slamming her palms onto the tile. Now it increased on the Fenris, and he could barely lift his paws off of the ground. It snarled furiously, struggling to move. But the longer she held it, the more exhausted Sierra became."Hope you're feeling better. I can only keep this up for so long." She managed a few breathy gasps to Viren, sweat beading her forehead.
Of all days, this had to be the most exciting. She had never met anyone like Viren, nor anyone that made her feel the way she did around him. She had never been pushed into water so many times, and she had never been attacked by a Fenris before. She wondered why today of all days was so different from the rest. Perhaps something was coming, something big.

The only thing Viren could do at the moment was watch the boy in front of him transform into some hideous wolf right in front of him. He felt more than saw Sierra move forward as she refused to leave him, but rather than glad at the response, it only filled him with dread. There was nothing he could do to defend both her and himself, he couldn't even stand up he had just planned on using Strength when the wolf kid attacked until he passed out like when he rescued his sister. 'Women' he thought, only kiddingy, 'always needing to be saved.' Maybe it was him though, Viren did tend to attract trouble wherever he went.
Transformed, the wolf kid didn't look like anything Viren had ever seen before. He was huge and had rows of teeth that were stained with blood, 'What kind of monster is he?' he wondered. Viren was too shocked to remember to activate his power and move, he actually thought this was how he was going to die until Sierra came out of nowhere and blocked the boy's path, using her Gravitation to floor the kid.
"Umm, yeah I feel one hundred percent." An obvious lie, he couldn't move, but she didn't need to know that right now. It seemed Viren would have to use up his last reserves anyway to get them away from this beast. "I know you'd just love to stay and play with poochi here, but how about we leave." He wasn't really sure if Sierra would still be able to hold down the wolf kid if he moved her, but their only option was to run at the moment.
Finally reactivating Strength for what was probably going to be the last time today, Viren jumped up, gathered Sierra up in his arms, then took off down the hall, spreading his wings as he went. He assumed she would be tired too and only slow them down. Not even daring to look and see how close on his heels the wolf boy was, Viren pushed aside some poor kid just coming in the doom who cussed him out for being so rude. He didn't care though, not caring was a side-effect from running for your life. As soon as they were outside he shot up into the sky, but didn't slow down until they reached the nearest roof top which would just so happen to be right next door at the girls' dorm. His only hope was that the wolf boy hadn't seen them fly over.
Viren landed a bit clumsily, almost tripping, but managed to stand up correctly and set Sierra back down on her feet. "Uh, sorry Princess, but this is as far as... I ... go.." Reaching his limit Viren fully collapsed onto the concrete, getting swallowed up by darkness like all those years ago.

Sierra rolled her eyes at him despite the moment, but knew he was right. She was surprised when he jumped up behind her, scooping her into his arms and taking off down the hall. Even now, her energy was draining, and all she could do was curl up uselessly. When they became airborne, Sierra was certain she was going to faint again. She didn't bode too well with heights or open spaces, and right now she was exposed to both. She couldn't help but press closer to Viren, as if he would protect her.
She was extremely relieved when they landed on the roof of the girls dorms. Despite how the gravel hurt her feet, she turned to thank Viren. Only to have him collapse. "Viren?" Sierra knelt next to him, shaking his shoulder. "Dang, he's out cold." Sierra bit her lip, glancing to the ground from her bird-eye view. The Fenris was slowly morphing back into a human, his spine crunching back into shape and the fur retreating under his skin. Soon after, he sprinted to the fence, jumped it, and disappeared into the forest beyond. Her eyes lingered there for a moment before returning her attention to Viren.
"Crap, what am I gonna do!?" Sierra gripped her hair in her hands."I can't carry him or anything." Gravity manipulation was out of the question as well, seeing as she was fighting to keep her eyes open. After a few moments of silence, she settled on carefully folding his wings where they belonged, and sitting next to him. Her eyes were set unmovingly at the forest, prying and searching for those amber-yellow eyes. They were in there somewhere, waiting for a second chance.
But you can't do the same thing for too long. It was only a minute or two before Sierra konked out as well. She allowed her forehead to rest on her knees, legs encased by her own arms.

"Zane!" A small child with familiar black hair and a high squeaky voice called his first name. She sat in the middle of a playroom surrounded by cats, dogs, dolphins, lions, pandas, all different kinds of stuffed animals. The little girl, his sister, was playing chess. She was really smart for a six-year-old, Viren never been able to win against her in any kind of strategy game. "It's your turn silly." she teased, and he found himself picking up his queen and moving it out into the open. It was an amateur mistake and the small child took the opportunity to take his queen. "Hah, gotchu!" she cried happily, but then real tears started to fall and she started to vanish. 'No, come back!' Zane tried to call her back but it was no good. Then all of a sudden the stuffed animals turned slowly to look at him, their eyes burning a bright yellow. They completely surrounded him, moving closer and closer, teeth sharpening in a horrific image. He tried to spread out his wings but couldn't, he couldn't yell, run, fly, anything, he was absolutely useless, he'd failed to keep his sister safe, she had disappeared because he was so useless, it was all his fault...
"No!" He screamed, causing the birds that'd come around to fly off into the distance. 'Twilight.. a dream.. no, a nightmare..' Viren panted heavily, wiping sweat from his forehead, fear was still lingering in his system, it'd been a few hours and the sun was disappearing. There was no room with yellow-eyed stuffed animals trying to eat him, but it had seemed so real. Then again that was how all nightmares were, especially those close to the heart.
Though he wasn't sure where he was at the time or how he'd gotten there, he didn't really care. It'd been a long time since Viren had ever felt so helpless and weak, at the complete mercy of something, it was terrifying. Drawing in his wings he retreated from the world outside. He was sore and trembled all over, even his wings quivered from fear, he didn't want to go back to sleep where nightmares were possibly still waiting to devour him. Instead he stayed curled up, trying not to think of anything at all.

Sierra almost rolled of the roof when Viren woke up screaming. She turned to face him, watching his curl up in his wings."Bird-boy, are you okay?" She stepped forward slowly, slowly placing her hand on his head. He was sweating and trembling like no tomorrow. She glanced up at the setting sun, then down back at him. She began to stroke his hair, since that had always been a comforting gesture to her, and began to sing a soft lullaby.

The whole time, Sierra was completely aware of her voice, which was the same quality as her piano. It rang out over the campus, although many didn't hear since they were most likely asleep. She told herself the words didn't pertain to the situation, although she had to admit she wanted them to.

Viren registered Sierra's question, but didn't answer, afraid he still wouldn't be able to be heard. He flinched when she placed a hand on his raven black hair, a gesture familiar and missed deeply. Slowly as the song went on he calmed down, the terrifying effects of the nightmare ebbing away. She had a beautiful voice, that Sierra, he was glad to have been around to hear it. By the very end he was still sore from all the strain of the day, but at least he wasn't terrified anymore.
Sighing heavily, Viren glanced up at Sierra though the long hair that liked to stay in his face. He didn't push it aside though, preferring to stay behind it as if that could hide him and his embarrassment. To him it was foolish to be afraid of a silly nightmare, foolish and yet he still refused to go back to sleep.
The song was clearly meant as some kind of lullaby, and that with the petting did make him tired, but he wouldn't do it. Sleep was just not a good option right now. So instead he just sat there for awhile, enjoying the petting until he remembered her last question to him. Well, that is, he still enjoyed the petting, but he didn't enjoying being called bird-boy too much.
"Viren." he corrected the girl, not meanly or anything, just as if he were stating a fact, which he was, "My name's not bird-boy, it's Zane Viren." He wasn't too sure if she'd want to use his first name or not, or just keep calling him bird-boy, but that was her decision and there wasn't much he could do about it. "And.. thanks." he reached out tentatively as if to draw her closer, but changed his mind and drew his hand back, unsure of what to do. In the end Viren just sighed again, yet smiled up at Sierra, not his regular mischievous grin or anything, just his normal crooked grin. "It's getting late, bet you're tired after such an... eventful day." Eventful was probably an understatement, but he was implying that Sierra was probably ready to for the day to be over and he'd be fine now. The thought of going back to the boys' dorm wasn't all too appealing to him at the moment, he kept thinking he'd run into that wolf boy, so he just planned on sleeping on the girls' rooftop, watching the stars come out until he'd give into sleep.

Sierra eventually stopped petting his hair. She looked down at him, letting her real smile show as well."Zane, huh?" Usually she would be angry that he didn't tell her the truth right away, but she just dropped it."I like that name" She smiled again, watching his hand as it raised and fell back down. "Sleep sounds pretty good to me. But are you okay?" She pushed away the urge to tease him for screaming over a nightmare. Sierra resumed her sitting up curled position, only kept her head up to look st Zane.
OOC: Sorry it's short. Not much for me to say.

"Do you now?" Viren leaned back on the palms of his hands, not many people -if any- knew his first name to begin with here, he didn't think it anything special, but liked hearing it said out loud again. "I suppose you can call me Zane, but to everyone else I'm Viren, so knock some sense into anyone else who says it." Well not there were two people in the world allowed to call him Zane, he hoped that list wouldn't grow any longer. His parents didn't even call him that anymore, they wouldn't even pick up the phone when he'd try to call t speak to his little sister.
Viren narrowed his eyes at the question about if he were alright. Well, he'd barely gotten away with his life from some kind of werewolf on steroids, only recently recovered enough energy to stand, and had an extremely realistic nightmare about the very thing he feared above all else, being completely useless and defenseless. So no, as a matter of fact he felt like crap, but, "Your voice brought me back into reality." was how he answered, pretty much completely avoiding the question.
Lying never got people anywhere but trouble, so Viren avoided it when possible. Plus he had loved Sierra's song. "If you're sleepy I recommend the soft bed with a side of warm blanket. I'll just be hanging out here tonight, so don't worry about any evil wolf kids following yours truly home." He shrugged as if he slept in strange places in case someone was after him on a daily basis... which was the case sometimes since he did get himself into trouble now and then.

Sierra nodded. She assumed his name brought back unpleasant memories. She also couldn't deny the warm feeling that flooded her face when he commented of her voice. The flash in his eyes reminded her that despite the question, he definitely wasn't okay. The first time seeing a Fenris was always the toughest one."Thanks for the prescription doc." Sierra slowly stood."I suppose you can relax here. You're probably tired out of your mind." She rubbed her arms, looking at the moonlight. It casted a haunting, silvery glow over evey thing, a glow that Sierra had adored since she was a child.
"I'll be heading towards my dorm now. My Batman comforter, cocoa machine, and t.v are waiting for me." She cast a smile down at him, not embarrassed to say that she did indeed have a Batman comforter. Hey, she thought he was totally awesome, and she had always been more of a superhero girl than a princess one. Another reason why she hated Zane's nickname for her.
