A salad, apple, and a few crackers. It wasn't much but he didn't really feel like eating any of it. All that happened to the food was that it was sat down at a table and glared at by the boy who'd bought it. If only food could talk, that'd make it allot more interesting. 'Well, some food can, but this food can't...' a sigh, 'how dull.'
Fang sat alone in an isolated corner of the cafeteria, it'd been about a week since he'd come here but he had yet to really make any friends, mostly just enemies. Turns out some kids here don't really like it when you treat them with indifference. They get all red in the face and yelly so he just walks away from them. Sometimes they'll follow for a bit still trying to talk to him sometimes they just throw a fit where they are, but luckily none have tried to actually pick a fight. Although that's probably because he always stays either in the school or in his dorm room. For all he knew kids were different outside.
With that thought finished Fang was forced back to glaring at his food, wishing it were some random drunk stranger which brought him to another thought again. That had happened allot in his neighborhood- people just wandering around drunk as hell. It had entertained him to watch them stumble around for a bit; even strike up a conversation, claim to be a cop, then watch them believe it and try to act more somber. Man, that had been fun. He'd always drink from them then. It was only drunks because they never remember getting bitten and Fang didn't have any mind-wiping mental powers so he would have had to kill anyone who would remember. Not the best thing to put on a teenage kids' conscious. So he'd only take some from the drunkards and leave them to stagger back home later.
Zipping up his jacket over a plain white shirt, even though he didn't feel chilly. Fang leaned back in his chair and yawned, his fangs weren't visible since he never really used them except when having to put up with that horrid blood bag. The mere thought of it twisted his normally expressionless face into a scowl, those things were worst than the food here. Nothing he could do but deal with though, he'd probably nab one after school since it was sort of a 'required or you die' thing. Sighing once again Fang sat at his table, completely bored with his food that was so very... Unappetizing.

Kronos walked over to the dimly lit corner of the cafeteria where he usually sat and plopped his tray down. Sitting down with a grunt, he picked up the apple and bit into it, careful not to accidentally set it on fire. He shifted, wondering if the seats were do uncomfortable because they were.. well, freaks, and normal people wanted to make them as unwelcome as possible. He shivered against the refrigerator-like temperature of the cafeteria, he pulled his aviator's jacket closer around him. He wasn't really cold, though. He wondered if it was his fire powers that kept him warm, or his jacket. Because, well, it was a really nice jacket. He heard someone sigh and he looked up to see a pale kid leaning back in his seat. "Sorry man. I didn't see you there before. You're new here, right?" he asked awkwardly. He wasn't the best at making friends, that was his sister's department. Usually the kids who wanted him came and found him theirselves.

It was surprising that someone had just come out of the blue and sat down at the same table, but the kid seemed just as surprised. Fang had thought it rare for anyone at this place to sit alone and assumed the empty table hadn't been sat at for awhile but that didn't seem to be the case. So there were others besides the new kid as socially awkward as himself? Huh, school, always throwing new surprises around.
He merely nodded at the question about his recent enrollment, not being a very talkative person. There were other reasons Fang had for his isolation though. The main one on how he'd been avoiding the school's stale blood bags and how delicious this new kid smelled compared to the bland food on the tray.
"It's no trouble. Tempting, but no trouble." Fang flashed a toothy grin, bearing his own fangs just to show what he meant by tempting. The company would be nice if the other kid stayed, but if he decided he'd rather not sit with a hungry vampire who could blame him?

Kronos set his apple down on the table and pointed his finger at his crackers. A stream of fire began burning the tastless food. He yawned, looking up at the new kid. He saw a kind of hunger in the kid's eyes. "Vampire, huh?" he asked, cutting off the fire and picking up the smoldering crackers, now as black as coal. Kronos didn't care, he loved anything burnt. It's how he managed with the cafeteria food. As he chewed, he pointed his finger at the half-eaten apple and used his fire powers to burn intricate designs into the apple.

Watching the display of fire magic made Fang want to laugh, actually laugh, for the first time all week- he didn't of course, but the feeling was still genuine. He'd met a fire user which was someone automatically labeled dangerous just like himself, it was a pleasing thought. He knew that fire magic was considered rare and uncontrollable but with the way this kid used it you'd think it were as tame as water magic. The devouring of the burnt cracker was interesting, but the delicate lines forming on the apple were just plain awesome.
"You know what, I like you." A bold declaration, but an obvious complement from the usually shelled in vampire. "I'm Fang, got shipped down here recently from what most people would call the ghetto- I call it home. Make any smart comment about the name though and I don't care what element you control; I will bite you." The threat wasn't meant to actually be a threat, Fang said it more out of habit from when he went to high-school with a bunch of punks who teased him about being a vampire because of his red eyes. If only they'd known how right they'd been.
Pushing his tray into the middle of the table, Fang gestured to the offering. He wasn't going to eat it and if the other guy were hungry still why waste food? "So Fire-eater, what brought you over, the dark isolation or my overflowing charm?" Yeah that's right, Mr. tough guy can be joking and sarcastic too if he likes a person enough.

"Why would I make fun of your name? At least it sounds cool. My parents named me after the Titan of time." Kronos said, throwing fireballs the size of peanuts into his salad. He saw Fang push his lunch tray into the middle of the table for him and grinned inwardly, pulling the tray closer to him. He usually played with his food, only eating the ultra-burnt crackers. At least this guy wasn't freaking out over his fire powers. Thats why he usually sat alone at lunch. "You've got more backstory than me. Nothing exciting happens in big cities like Chicago. Not to Astrid and me, anyway." he said. "Usually I sit at an empty table, so I can burn this tastless mush in peace. I guess I didn't notice you at first." he apologized. Kronos wasn't the best at socially interacting with people.

Why make fun of his name? Man where had this guy been all this time Fang was moping around the school, what a knockout- there were plenty of reasons to make fun of a vampire named Fang. He wasn't about to get into all the stupid crap he'd heard of course, people could be nasty when they felt like it. For a fire-wielder though, this kid seemed pretty tame, shy even, not some hot-head that liked to blow smoke.
"Titan of time huh? Guess I'll have to call you Time Keeper instead of Fire eater then seeing as I don't know much about Titans." Maybe one of his teachers had mentioned the Titan of time before, but Fang probably hadn't been paying much attention. He did know that Titan's were suppose to powerful or something though so whatever the kid's name was it was most likely better than Fang.
Fang grinned at the remark about the tasteless food, there was no question about that. "No doubt about that, I tried it once my third day and almost choked. Didn't think there was anything worst than the blood bags here but this is it." Just for emphasis he scowled at the food. "Oh, and who's Astrid your mom or something?" The guy seemed to timid to be a brother so he guessed the person he spoke of was his mom or aunt or something.

"Your name goes with who you are. Kronos for a fire manipulator? The kids teased me about my name anyway." Kronos said. He set his crackers down and leaned back in his chair. "Whatever you wanna call me is fine. I don't care." he told Fang about what Fang wanted to call him. "Nah man, Astrid's my twin sister. She's a water manipulator, and much more social." Kronos said, a bit wistfully.

Name goes with who you are huh? Well, no wonder his mom called him Fang before realizing he was a vampire. "Well if that's the case... Fang thought for a few moments, deciding on what fit the mellow kid the best. "I think Kronos suits you rather well actually. Powerful titan and yet time is what you do with it so you just sit back and relax." Nodding to himself absentmindedly, he decided Kronos did fit the kid, it was an awesome name.
Fang caught the wistful note in the kid's tone of voice. 'so someone wants to be a people person huh.' he thought. Kronos did seem to be a bit out of the loop, but the boy was nice as could be so the only thing that could possibly hold him back from making friends would be his shy demeanor. "Well, you seem social enough to me, I'm ecstatic that you joined the table." It was hard to tell that Fang was glad to have met the kid because of the lack of facial expression at the moment, but he was glad none the less. "All you need to do is go up and talk to someone and I bet they'd like you right off the bat."
He wasn't really sure if the kid would get it, but Fang was trying to tell him he only needed to stop being so shy.

"I get what you're saying. And believe me, I've tried. I'll go up to people, try to start a conversation, but they ignore me and walk off. They don't know what I do. That'd make me more noticeable. But look at you. You're a vampire. People notice right away you're different, and they want to know more about you." Kronos told Fang "Astrid is persistent. If she wants to talk to you she'll come after you. Her power is harmless. But mine.. Mine is destructive. How do you think she got those scars on her arms?" he pointed to his sister, where she was sitting with some friends a few tables away. Her dark scars were clearly visible, like flames licking up towards her shoulders. Kronos sat back and sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Sorry Fang. I've had this horrid headache all day, and nothing can rid of these headaches I get."
