When bird-boy suggested that he 'bask in her presence', Sierra threw him a look that was a mixture of 'you're so snooty' and amusement. She had begun jogging towards the diving board herself, turning around and stopping in surprise when he asked for her name. She observed him for a moment, his blue swimming trunks and his wings only about half spread."Sierra Hart." She replied after awhile, and slowly resumed her pace."I'll stick with calling you bird-boy." She smiled at him, a real smile, from the ladder of the diving board, and swiftly began pulling herself up. When at the top, Sierra looked down and called to the girl."Might wanna move! Anchors away!" Sierra jumped, slowly adjusting herself to become as stiff as a pencil, headfirst into the water.
Instead of a huge splash, the water seemed to reflect the figure of her body that was there a few second ago. The water raised up quietly and column-like rather than a spritz of rain.

"Sierra Hart... hah heart... yeah, sure, big heart she's got." Viren wasn't really talking to anyone, just mumbling to himself as Sierra started back on her way to the diving board. He hadn't expected her to turn back around and smile at him. Like, a legit smile... at him. Not some cocky smirk or dopey grin either. It gave him a really weird feeling that he smothered up immediately and tossed under the 'deal with later' category before he could get embarrassed and blush like some crazy loon. Though he pushed it down, he still ran to catch up to Sierra on the diving board and got up on it just in time to see her jump in, barely disturbing the water. 'Wow'
Whelp, now it was Viren's turn. He went up to the edge first and looked down at the water, it was a whoooole lot deeper than what he was use to, and it started to give him second thoughts about the very real possibility that he may drown. His specialty was flying, not swimming, shoot, he could barely doggy paddle what was he doing up here? "Nope, if you can fly you can swim." He told himself firmly, still holding to the belief that he would be able to fly underwater. Viren backed back up for some running room "Here goes nothing!" and with that, ran up and jumped off of the diving bored...
Aaaand landed flat on his back. Turns out wings aren't the best thing to have out when you're trying to dive. Viren jumped just fine, but instead of going down he flipped over, his wings having caught a breeze and attempt to bring him airborne when he wanted to be waterborne. Then Smack. Back meets water... very painfully. Remember how he isn't so bright sometimes? This was one of those times as he waded over to the edge of the pool and hauled himself out to lay on his belly, wings surprisingly unharmed from the water spread out about 10-15 feet total from tip to tip, "Geez, that smarts." Just shoot him now.

Sierra gasped slightly when bird-boy made his spectacular splat, but being her couldn't help but stifle a laugh."Are you okay?" She asked, brushing back the now wet extra locks from her face."Guess wings aren't the best for diving, huh?" She smiled again, swimming smoothly towards the edge of the pool and resting against while she asked the question. After waiting a little, Sierra heaved herself out of the water and walked carefully towards her swim back. Her hand returned from the depths a tube that looked like there would be toothpaste inside."Here, bird-boy. Put this on your back." She tossed the tube next to his face."It's just a little magic ointment. Used it while I was learning to dive." She folded her arms again, waiting for him to move. She noticed how raw and red his back looked now, and bit her lip."Man, that's gonna sting for a day or two."

"Wings aren't the best for swimming underwater, anyway." Astrid rose to the top of the pool and walked across it to the edge, where she picked up her water jug and quickly drank most of it. "Water can be like a trap, so instead of swimming you'd be slowed down." she told the angel and the girl next to him. She walked over to the pair and looked at the boy's back. "Ouch. You'll be in pain for a while. But it's better than a belly flop."

"Ooooh, yeah. I'm perfectly fine." A perfectly fine liar, that's what he was. It hurt even more when the new girl came up and stomped all over his idea about flying underwater. Well, it didn't physically hurt, it was just his pride. He was just about to reply when some kind of toothpaste bottle plopped down in front of him. "What is this take care of Viren day or something, man I don't need any help." Despite his brave words Viren seriously didn't think he could get up at the moment, in fact he was probably going to be grounded with his back hurting...
Grounded, yeah, that just made his day. No flying up into trees, or the roof, or any other high up place. It really sank in when he took a second look at the toothpaste thingy. This was just what he needed, juuuust perfect, just freaken marvelous, he'd come to relax and was going to come out feeling worst. Not really caring that it hurt Viren say up and heaved a heavy sigh. "Today sucks." His only hope was that the condition of his back may not matter when beating his wings, although if it did he would be spending a whole lot of time in the afternoon playing out his distress on his violin.
Viren glanced over at the new girl who'd dived off first, "So who are you?" Not the politest way he's ever asked, "Actually, no sorry. Hi, I'm Viren thanks for the advice, what's your name?" bad mood or not there was no reason for him to be rude to someone he'd just met.

Sierra blinked, observing him for a bit. Viren. The name echoed in her head. She assumed their conversation was over, since he turned his attention to the other girl."Hope you feel better bird-boy." She turned on her heel, holding up her hand briefly in a wave. She quickly leaned over to grab her bag, realizing it was much heavier than before. Suspicion built up inside her rapidly as she grabbed the zipper, her blue eyes darkening. She scowled when she discovered all of her music books stuck inside. Saxophone, violin, piano, all of her books tucked neatly under her towel."Kento." She muttered under her breath."At least they didn't get we-" As she turned, she was interrupted by a loud squeaking caused by her feet. The sound was followed by the sensation of falling backwards, again. Sierra screamed, and was back in the water in a flurry of blonde hair and flying music books. A few landed safely on the tile, but many plopped into the pool with her and the rest of the items in her bag."Oh no!" Sierra quickly popped onto the surface, rubbing her head and looked around."My music!" She attempted to swim quickly towards them, which looked more like hasty flopping as she tried to rescue it. Her eyes stung as she gathered the ruined pages, only then returning to grab everything else."I'm gonna kill Kento."She clenched her teeth until they were sore, tossing the dripping back out of the pool and pulling herself out. She grabbed the pages again, now just wet paper with blurred black ink.

"Sorry about that. I'm Astrid." she took another swig from her water jug. "I've been here for 5 years." she told Viren. "The muscles in your back are gonna be sore, kinda like after a hard day or exercise." She tilted her head. "I've never seen you here before. Are you new?"

"The muscles in your back are gonna be sore, kinda like after a hard day or exercise" Okay sore, alright, Viren could deal with that, the next two or three days weren't going to be total hell for him after-all, 'phew'. As long as it was only sore he'd still be able to fly, no fancy spins or loops in the sky, but take off and gliding shouldn't be a problem as long as he got a running start. He felt as if he would almost choke on the relief that washed through him. Seriously, the sky was his only true freedom, he didn't want to give that up even for a single day- let alone two or three.
When Astrid told him how long she'd been here then asked if he was new, Viren couldn't help but snort. Him? New? "Hah, um, no I am so not new. In fact I've been here twice as long as you, ten years." Not really wanting to go into the whole conversation about how he'd gotten sent at such a young age, why his parents didn't hide him, yada yada yada, he turned his attention back to Sierra, who was just leaving. Groaning with the effort Viren sat up and turned around to wave back at her, it wasn't as bad as he thought, "Late-" he was cut off suddenly by her scream as she suddenly decided it be a good idea to jump back in so that her papers could go swimming too.
Rushing over, Viren picked up all the dry books and papers since it really wouldn't be a good idea to let someone who'd just fallen in and gotten soaked again to touch and drip all over them. He was surprised when they turned out to be music sheets, some of them he recognized as sheets he use to have before committing them to memory- violin music. "Be a doll and come over here to take those wet papers from her Astrid, they'll be wrinkled when they dry, but we might be able to salvage a few." Turning back to Sierra he joked, "So, you were trying to upstage me huh?" More on the serious side though he asked, "You doing okay? No bumps, scratches, broken bones, or internal bleeding?" Yes, those went in increasing order of thing that were bad. Being the big softy on the inside he was though, he tended to ask that question allot when he sees anyone get hurt. Might as well cover all the bases just in case right?

Astrid sniffed when Viren called her "doll" but walked over and picked up the music sheets anyway. I can draw the water from the pages, but I'm not sure it's such a good idea after I went swimming in the pool.she thought. She looked down a the papers in her hands and sighed, but she held out her hand anyway and concentrated. Slowly the water began to drain from the music and into a floating sphere the hovered above her hand. Soon the pages were nice and dry, if still a bit wrinkled. Astrid let the water fall into the pool and drained the rest of her water. She stood next to Viren and held Sierra's papers under one arm. "Hand me her books." she told him.

Sierra managed to smiled again at Viren and Astrid."Water manipulation, huh?" She sat on the tile, still dripping wet now that her towel was wet too. She glanced back at Viren, hugging her arms as the familiar cold feeling seeped into them."My ankle hurts a bit, but I'm fine." She then smiled again at the rest of his remark."Sure, why not?" She pointed at the piece he was holding."That's my favorite violin solo. It's called Alone Wolf." She remembered hearing the song the night bird-boy snatched her book, and had been teaching herself ever since.
"I play lots of instruments." She felt warmth creeping up her neck and into her face."I guess you could say it helps me connect with my parents." Sierra regretted the words as soon as they came out of her mouth, for the stinging in her eyes grew. Her eyes shimmered along with the building tears, and she quickly turned away."Do they have any spare towels around here?" She tried to sound casual, but her voice quavered.
