(Ignore the name, when I made it I was thinking about that song. ) Cold water met her toes as Sierra dipped them in. She was wearing a tight-fitting red tank top and orange swimming shorts, both untouched by the water. A tie-die towel was wrapped tightly around her shoulders as she hesitated to get in. Sierra settled on swishing her feet in the water for awhile before submerging herself. (Short, I know.)

Classes had just let out about fifteen minutes ago, but already Viren was ready to just fall over and be done with the day. He hadn't gone to sleep at all yesterday or today unless you count the quick nap he'd grabbed in the cafeteria. When the bell had rung again to signal that it was time for the next class he'd woken up with uneaten mash-potatoes all over his face and up his nose, not the best thing to wake up to. Despite the fact that it probably wasn't to sanitary anymore he still scarfed the junk down, almost making himself late for Math, but if he missed a meal his stomach would probably eat itself.
It had all been because of that book he'd taken from the girl yesterday. The thing was just so interesting that Viren wasn't able to put it down, then when he finally finished it, turned out the light, and closed his eyes, his alarm went off telling him he had ten minutes to get dressed and ready for school. Talk about timing. After school he went back to his room, but was too sore from leaning up against the wall to go to sleep, so that only left him with one option... the pool.
Ages seemed to have gone by since Viren had last gone to the pool just for a little fun or relaxation. He didn't feel like carrying around an extra pair of cloths, or even wearing extra for that matter, so just grabbed the book in case he ran into that girl, and walked out of the room with nothing on but a light blue pair of Swim-trunks with three white slash markings on each side. There was no way he would get through the school like that of course, so he unfurled his wings and folding them back to wrap around himself like a feathery cloak, just without the hood. It worked surprisingly well, covering everything but his head and bare feet as the long feathers barely brushed against the floor.
Viren walked right past the girl in the pool without even noticing, he was just way to tired and sore to do notice anything but the hot-tub that awaited him a little ways further. Slowly he eased himself in the steaming water, "Oh my gawd that feels amazing." He set the book down off to the side so it wouldn't get wet, almost forgetting about the whole entire world in this one moment of bliss. There was no worry about his feathers getting wet as they took in the soothing warmth as well, they were waterproof.

Sierra opened her eyes when she heard someone talk. Across the room, bird-boy was slipping into the hot tub. And to his right was her book. A set of white teeth broke out from under her lips in a smile, and Sierra pulled her legs out of the water. She was at the other side of the pool in a matter of seconds, and she quickly snatched her book."Hey bird-boy." She tucked the book safely under her arm and folded them."Enjoy my book much?" Her hip stuck out more in one direction, giving her a sassy look that she usually stayed away from. The long, strawberry blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail, leaving a few locks down to frame her smooth face.

"Hey bird-boy."
Just as Viren was beginning to relax... juuust theeen, again, for the second time this week, someone comes up to bother him. Did he tick off some witch earlier in the week and she casted a 'you shall never relax again' spell on him or something? Cause he was seriously beginning to consider that. The hot water was so intoxicating, he simply refused to get out and confront this chick properly so instead he leaned his head back to see who it was.
Surprise, surprise, it was the girl from yesterday, well wasn't that convenient? She even came over and picked up the book herself, although even upside down, she didn't look too happy. "Well well, look who we have here." Craning his neck like that didn't really help with his aches so instead he figured he better take the extra movement and simply turned around and leaned over the edge. He caught her sarcastic tone, but chose to play off of it rather than get mad and flip out, Mr. modesty considered himself too cool for that. "Yeah, I loved it, couldn't put it down and now I'm sore all over and tired as hell. Couldn't sleep so I came down to relax and loosen up a little." Just for a little revenge for calling him bird-boy he added, "Something you might want to try, care to join me?"
Of course, Viren didn't really expect this girl to agree and join him in the hot-tub, she probably thought he was just some punk who liked messing with people.... which wouldn't be very far from the truth, but that wasn't the issue right now. Yet he couldn't help but notice she looked fairly cute in her tank top and shorts, and sort of wished she would join him. Not like there were many other people around anyway to talk to, a conversation would at least keep him from falling asleep in here.

Sierra raised an eyebrow curiously at his invitation. She mulled it over in her mind for a few minutes, then set the book a little ways from the hot-tub and stepped in."Nothing else to do." She commented carelessly."That was a pretty good prank though. Better than the one Kento and I pulled a few years ago." She smiled slightly at the memory. She observed his face for a moment, realizing he probably didn't expect her to join him."What? I'm different than most people." She raised her hands."I don't really mind that you randomly snatched my book and sent me tumbling into a freezing cold pond in the middle of the night." Sierra retold the tale like that simply to irritate who she'd come to know as bird-boy.
She brought her hands back down and allowed them to warm up underneath the water. She looked down at it, seeing the distorted image of her shorts, than the black area's where bird-boy's wings were submerged.

'Ooookay' Viren watched curiously as the girl thought about the invite then actually did step into the hot-tub to join him, acting totally casual about the whole ordeal, maybe she didn't have a pine-cone up her butt after all. How nice. He was a little surprised to hear that she enjoyed a good prank as well as the next person, even pulled a few off with her brother. Well, well, well- you think you know a person. Then again he didn't really know her, just kind of assumed what with all her pond falling and book snatching. So he had snatched it up first, so what? He was going to give it back as soon as he found her.
Though she shrugged, as if not really caring about toppling into a pond, it was pretty darn clear she was just taunting him... and it was working. Viren let out a mocking bark of laughter, "Hah, yeah miss book worm, I can totally tell you don't care in the slightest." Women, geez, they can really get at you sometimes.
Following her gaze down toward to the water, Viren wondered about what it would be like to attempt to fly underwater. Other birds dove and came back up with fish, sure, but what about actually trying to fly? It wouldn't be the smartest thing to try in a hot-tub, but maybe back in the pool where he'd have some room to fully stretched out his wingspan. "Hey. Do you think it's possible to fly underwater?" a second opinion was always good to have, and big shocker, Viren wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, probably slightly below the average intelligence. No Ds or Fs in school yet, but he usually kept up a record of Cs and a few Bs.

Sierra laughed slightly at his remark. She could tell she was getting under his skin, and her eyes gleamed mischievously. When her mind caught up with the question, he eyebrows scrunched in confusion."Odd question." She commented before actually thinking about it."But no, I don't." Deep down, Sierra hoped he wouldn't ask why. For some reason, she didn't want him to think of her as a nerd. She stretched out her arms and laid them on the edge of the hot tub, hoping he would take that as a dismissive signal to the conversation."Well, I'm gonna go start my laps." Sierra eventually stood, preparing to step out. Something here was bugging her, as if there was electricity in the air. What was it?

After half an hour of trying to persuade Kronos to come for a short swim, Astrid gave up and hastily pulled on her swimsuit. Not bothering to put on shoes, she grabbed a towel on her way out of her room and made her way across the grounds to the pool. Quietly she slipped inside, unaware of the hot tub's occupants. She pulled off her cap and tossed her towel onto the ground, running for the diving boards. Below her spanned the entire pool. From up on the high dive she could see the whole area, and was now aware of Sierra and Viren in the hot tub. Astrid personally didn't like hot tubs-the heat deluded her powers. But she stood up and dove to the bottom of the pool anyway, entering the water with a quiet spalsh

Wow, wasn't this little scene familiar. Once again, Viren was getting dismissed as the girl stretched out then started to get up. 'Not this time' He thought, no, this time it was going to be different, he wouldn't be brushed off so easily like before. "Hold up, I was so kind as to allow you to bask in my presence, how 'bout letting me bask in yours?" Even if she flat out told Viren, no, she didn't want him following her back into the pool, he was going to do it anyway. When the headmaster brushes you off, you just have to deal with it and go away, with this girl, he had options, and he was determined not to back off.
Dead tired or not, Viren would swim underwater, even defy the laws of physics if he had to. Nothing got done on a pulled muscle though so he took a bit of time to stretch out and watch as yet another girl ran out onto the diving board and went straight to the bottom. 'Impressive'. It didn't just look impressive though, it looked like fun. "I'm gonna go try that too." he declared, in all his years at the Academy he'd never actually gone and dove off of the diving board, just sort of swam around or relaxed.
Although, before going he really had to know something first, "Hey, what's your name anyway?"

Astrid lay lounging on the bottom of the pool, roughly 12 feet deep. The pressure didn't bother her much, and she could breath easily. Peaceful as it was she knew she would have to come up soon. Her water bottle lay next to her towel and she'd need to drink half of the clunky thing to stay healthy. It was such a pain, having to carry it around all day. But if she met her requirement by drinking all of it, so be it. A shadow passed over her, and she looked up to see what it was. Someone was on the diving board. Astrid kicked out of the way and clung to the wall to watch them.
